and i will write about how happy i am to be friends with you

and i will write to you all that this picture means to me

how long have i known you, but still we don’t know each other
how long has it been from the first time i said your name

on the day i pour out my heart through my tears, you’re there

arriving just on time, i walk inside and see you there
nothing comes when i say hello, no glance from your eyes
you just sit there so alone, without even me to talk to
what is it that keeps us so far from each other
and why can’t we talk about our lives together?

when we get to Heaven, can i see your face?
when we get to Heaven, can we talk for hours as friends
and when we get to Heaven, will we be able to get past this silence between us
and will you smile at me, finally, only if we’re in Heaven?

attempted conversation goes from hopeful to hopeless tonight
what happened here between us that we just can’t get past?
i don’t know what you’re thinking or why we’re stuck in these
cages i didn’t see coming when we used to be friends
oh, the day we used to be friends didn’t last forever…

when we get to Heaven, can i see your face
when we get to Heaven, can we talk for hours as friends
and when we get to Heaven, will we be able to get past this silence between us
and will you smile at me, finally, only if we’re in Heaven?

because how can we talk there if we can’t talk here
and how can this be, why can’t you look at me
what happened that night, the night we fell away
and no, no more of this, no, we need to talk it over
and i need your smile to tell me it’s ok, because we can’t wait until Heaven.
