Three Magic Syllables

There’s nothing quite like the moonlight on a night like tonight
When the air calls for peace, and the breeze for a breath
The vast expanse begs for admiration
It needs you to wonder how so much nothing can capture so much space

Have you ever seen the stars like this before
Have you ever seen the moon uninterrupted from its slumber
Have you ever felt the earth through the grass at this hour
Have you ever held the earth with your fingertips

Hundreds of millions of miles away, it seems that everyone else could be
But I’d be fine, here in the moonlight with you tonight
The vast expanse between our hands begs for consolation

And it feels like the stars are aligned with the moon
Because I feel time stand still when you whisper to me those three magic syllables
It leaves me to wonder how you’ve captured so much in those three magic syllables

I have never seen the stars like this before
So let’s leave the moon uninterrupted from its slumber
And just feel the earth through the grass with our fingertips
Let’s hold the earth with our fingertips and whisper those three magic syllables
