Not A Drug

On a lonely night last week, she left the bar
And walked along the empty street
She didn’t think she’d be alone like she was that night
Kicking broken glass on the sidewalk, keeping her head down
Because it would so much to just look up

She’s tried everything to free her for herself
She’s tried everything that didn’t ask her to change

Is there something more to life
She’s tried the drugs, she’s tried the lies
But there’s something more to life

On a lonely night last week
He was feeding homeless children on the street
Just like he did the week before
His heart goes out to everyone outside himself
And he’s an inspiration to everyone around

He’s found a way to be free from himself
He’s turned away from who he used to be

He knows there’s something more to life
Something to cling to, wherever you are
There’s something more to life
It’s not what we can give ourselves
But what we can give ourselves to
And he chose Jesus

Jesus is not a drug that you just try
Jesus isn’t someone you just use to get by
