Trying to Hold the Wind

What good is it, taking all of this inside
Won’t it just kill, after it builds and builds
Whether I wake up to someone else
Tomorrow, a different life I could create
It’s all in vain, a nothing from nothing
While in my mind it lives like something

Fill the bank to save my life
To live for years and never tire
Woe to that faith we hold
Taking just one night in arms that we don’t know
Ends in a lifetime of regret
Because we gave ourselves everything that caught our eyes

On our own we try to please ourselves
This, my friend, is like trying to hold the wind
Never ceasing, always striving, only disappointing
